Previously, we talked about what time management is, and though we’ve explained what it is and the tools you can use to manage your own time, we haven’t talked about its techniques. So, here are two time management techniques that you can use to see a boost in your productivity.
To start using this technique, first, choose the task that you want to get done. Set a timer for that task. Give yourself 30 minutes or 25 minutes for example. When the timer rings, put a checkmark on the task that you chose earlier and take a short break before repeating the steps.
And that’s it. It’s pretty simple as you can see. It’s effective though and it’s one of the most recommended time management techniques for beginners.
For example, tasks that are important that you need to get done during the day such as finishing your today’s assignment should be placed on the Do quadrant. While other important tasks that are not as urgent as the earlier ones can be placed in the Decide quadrant.
Anyway, that’s all from us for now, thank you for reading, we’ll see you next time.
The Pomodoro Technique
This particular time management technique is made by entrepreneur Francesco Cirillo. It’s a fairly simple time management technique too as it’s all about you using a timer to break down your tasks or works into intervals.
The Eisenhower Matrix
The second time management technique that we’re going to be talking about in this article is the Eisenhower Matrix which was invented by Dwight Eisenhower. This technique involves you in separating your tasks into 4 quadrants. Do and decide for the important ones, and Delegate & Delete for the unimportant ones. For example, tasks that are important that you need to get done during the day such as finishing your today’s assignment should be placed on the Do quadrant. While other important tasks that are not as urgent as the earlier ones can be placed in the Decide quadrant.
Conclusion
As you can probably already guess, there are a lot of time management techniques out there, but unfortunately, we can only talk about two of them in this article due to the word count limit. But also thankfully, these two techniques that we have chosen are pretty effective at helping you manage your time. Especially when combined with other time management tools or techniques.Anyway, that’s all from us for now, thank you for reading, we’ll see you next time.
